I don't really know the details of what Live Convention was, and I don't really know anything about any of the artists on the album aside from Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel, but I do know that this is a great album. As the title implies, it's a live album. The artists featured are DJ Lighting Lance, The Hypnotizin 3, Sha Roc, Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel, DJ AJ, Kay Bee and Spicey Dee. In Ego Trip's Big Book of Rap Lists it's listed as the fifth greatest album from 1979-1985, and I'd say that's pretty accurate.
