The Nominees:

• Blue Roses - Blue Roses
• Marissa Nadler - Little Hells
• William Elliot Whitmore - Animals in the Dark
• Yusuf - Roadsinger

And the winner is...

William Elliot Whitmore - Animals in the Dark

I've been so impressed with all the great anti-folk, psych-folk, and that type stuff that's been coming out recently, that I almost disassociated folk music with songs of protest and the old "fuck anybody with authority" mentality. Thanks for keeping me in check William Eliot Whitmore.
